Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern the rights and obligations between the operator and users regarding the use of FingerDoor (the “Service”), along with other necessary matters.
Terms FingerDoor
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set forth the conditions and procedures for using the Service, and the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the operator and users. Matters not specified herein shall be governed by applicable laws and generally accepted practices.
Article 2 (Definitions)
The definitions of terms used in these Terms are as follows:
- “Service” means the FingerDoor web service and any related services provided by the operator (including pages, features, and API/integration features if offered).
- “Operator” means the person or entity that establishes, manages, and operates the Service.
- “User” means anyone who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service, including hosts and participants.
- “Host” means a user who creates/operates polls or questions and views/shares results in classes, lectures, events, or workshops.
- “Participant” means a user who accesses a poll via a method provided by the host (code/link/QR, etc.) and submits responses.
- “Content” means any poll questions, responses, results, text, images, files (if provided), UI elements, code, designs, and other materials provided or created/entered/uploaded within the Service.
- “Room code / session code” means an identifier (e.g., numeric/alphanumeric) used by participants to join a host-created session.
- “Presentation view (present mode)” means a view-only screen or feature optimized for presenting and displaying results (if provided).
- “Session purpose” means the operational purpose entered by the host when creating a session (e.g., class, lecture, workshop, event).
- “Host email” means the email address entered by the host when creating a session, which may be used for session management, essential notices, and service reliability purposes.
Article 3 (Effectiveness, Posting, and Changes)
- These Terms become effective when posted within the Service or otherwise made available to users.
- The operator may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
- If amended, the operator will provide notice of the effective date and the reason for the change within the Service (or via separate notice) for a reasonable period prior to the effective date.
- If a user does not agree to amended Terms, they may stop using the Service. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Article 4 (Operational Policies and Supplementary Rules)
The operator may establish and post operational policies necessary for smooth operation (e.g., usage restrictions, security policies, data retention policies, usage guidelines). Such policies form part of these Terms. If these Terms conflict with an operational policy, the policy may prevail unless special circumstances apply.
Article 5 (Service Features)
The operator may provide the following features or equivalent services (features may vary by policy and version):
- Host features to create and operate polls/questions
- Participant response submission (button-based or other supported formats)
- Aggregation and display of results
- Presentation view (present mode) or result view screens
- Session/room-based management features
- Other features developed and provided by the operator
Article 6 (Changes, Suspension, and Maintenance)
- The operator may change all or part of the Service for improvements, feature additions, security enhancements, or policy updates.
- The operator may temporarily suspend the Service due to maintenance, server/network issues, partner issues, natural disasters, or other unavoidable circumstances.
- Where possible, the operator will provide prior notice; in urgent cases, notice may be provided afterward.
- The operator will take reasonable measures for stable operation, and users are responsible for reviewing posted maintenance/suspension notices.
Article 7 (Formation of Agreement and Consent)
A usage agreement is formed when the user agrees to these Terms and uses the Service. If additional features (e.g., accounts or paid features) are introduced, additional consent procedures may apply.
Article 8 (If Accounts/Authentication Are Provided)
The following applies only if the Service provides account-based functionality. The scope and policies for accounts/authentication will be announced within the Service.
- Users must provide accurate information when registering; disadvantages caused by false information are the user’s responsibility.
- Users are responsible for safeguarding account credentials and may not transfer or lend accounts to third parties.
- The operator may require additional verification or restrict usage if necessary for security or suspected misuse.
